John Robertson has been building homes in the Richmond area for over 25 years. In addition to the construction of new homes, John specializes in residential developments, additions, remodels, and environmental modifications. John is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). John’s work can be found in Maple Green, Sabot Hill, Oak Park, Wyndham, Kings Charter, Randolph Square, Kinross, Southshore, Tall Oaks, and Libbie Place. John’s projects have been featured in the Virginia Historic Garden Tour, Southern Living Magazine, HomeStyle and Gardening Magazine, Remodeling Magazine, Richmond Times-Dispatch and Style Weekly.
John has extensive experience in repurposing unused land in residential neighborhoods. In these situations, John works to make sure the work satisfies client’s needs while also enhancing the character and value of the neighborhood. John’s Carrington Court development, built around a nineteenth century farmhouse in an existing neighborhood in Richmond’s West End, received the 1998 Henrico County Preservation Merit Award and is currently used by the county as a model for historic preservation.

A. Lynn Ivey, III
Lynn has been involved with the residential and healthcare industries in different capacities over the past 25 years, primarily as a financier. For three years, he was Senior Vice President at Beth Sholom Life Care Community where he oversaw and coordinated the design, finance and construction of a new $12 million assisted living facility – Parkside. That facility employed the most up-to-date architectural designs. Prior to his years at Beth Sholom, he was a public finance banker, financing numerous housing projects, CCRC’s, assisted living and other healthcare facilities. He is a National Association of Homebuilders Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS).
He previously served on the board of the Senior Center of Richmond. He currently sits on the Health Action Council for United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg. He is President of the Overlook Unit Owners Association, Treasurer of the Instructive Visiting Nurse Association, and is a member of the Richmond City Council Aging and Disabilities Advisory Board.
Lynn is a Richmond native, graduating from St. Christopher’s School. He earned degrees at the University of Virginia (BA) and University of Richmond (JD, MBA).

Matt Ellington grew up in Richmond, attended Benedictine High School and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2002 with a BS in Building Construction. His career in residential home building began more than ten years ago in the Northern Virginia area with a nationally recognized firm. Matt successfully completed over 130 homes in three years. In 2003, he was honored with the prestigious PROS Award for the top project manager in the DC Metro area in the 75 to 100 homes category and went on the be named the 2004 Project Manager of the Year. In 2005, Matt was named Director of Construction for a high-end custom home-builder. During his five-year tenure, Matt built more than 20 homes in Arlington, VA. Matt returned to Richmond in 2010 and founded Ellington Homes. His experience as a Class A Contractor allow him to produce a high-end product in a timely and budget-conscious manner for you and your family.
